Siskiyou County CUPA
The Hazardous Materials Management Group implements the Unified Program (UP), at the local government level pursuant to Title 27 § 15110(a)(2). Siskiyou County Environmental Health Division of the Public Health Department became the Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) on January 1, 1997. The Environmental Health Division is certified by the Cal/EPA Secretary to implement the Unified Program specified by Health and Safety Code § 25404(a)(1)(A), within Siskiyou County.
Under authority granted by the state, the Environmental Health Division administers the following programs:
- Hazardous Waste Generator Program (California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.5)
- Hazardous Waste Tiered Permitting (California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.5)
- Underground Storage Tanks (California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.7)
- Aboveground Storage Tank SPCC Plans (California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.67)
- Hazardous Materials Business Plans (California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.95)
- California Accidental Release Prevention Program (California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.95)
